It' s great for if you can' t save your game but need to quit for a while, or in my case when I' m at work and need to quickly stop playing and get back to work - like when my boss comes in!I' m so happy with the DS and hope they continue to make games that don' t require the DSi, which I have no desire to purchase despite the larger screen. Just like standby on your computer, simply closing the system shut puts your game on standby. And it lasts even longer when you' re in standby mode, something I' ve come to love. It' s easy to hold, use, and bring with you anywhere. One other great thing I' d like to mention is the battery life. Not only did I love these games, but loved the DS and it' s design and gameplay.

I was amazed at how quickly I became a pro. But I decided to give a Metroid game (Prime Hunters) and a Legend of Zelda game (Phantom Hourglass) a chance, both of which were designed FOR the DS. AND I don' t care about having a camera (let alone 2) on my portable gaming device. At first I was very reluctant to like it and give it a fair chance, and played games that didn' t require using the stylus and/or touch screen, old GBA games or ported games from past systems. I also opted for the DS Lite as opposed to the DSi so that I could play game boy advance games- the DSi does NOT have a GBA slot. But the sole reasoning behind my purchase was that I could play it at work where I have a lot of down time. I bought the DS after it had been out for a while and some of my friends had it long enough to own games that I could borrow. I also owned a gameboy advance but wasn' t too happy with it or the game selection. I' m a big nintendo fan and have owned all of the major consoles. Very portable.Cons: Hinge can crack/break and be a large nuisance. While this doesn't affect the actual gameplay, it can be a large nuisance.Pros: Huge game library. This is a common problem with many DS Lites. The hinge can crack and/or break, making the top screen unable to lock in a specific position. Durability-wise, the DS Lite could make improvements on.

Feels comfortable in hands, and can be stowed quickly away in a pocket. 5 hours is plenty of gaming time, while 19 is more than most casual gamers would need for a single day. Battery life can range from 5 to 19 hours, depending on brightness and usage. Still, they're a major improvement over previous Nintendo consoles. Graphics are good, but nowhere near the level of the PSP's graphics. There are over 1,500 games for the DS as of the date of this review. The DS, Nintendo's current handheld console, has one of the biggest, if not the biggest, game libraries of any handheld console.
